
Ginger Chocolate Chip Bars
1 cup butter (at room temperature)
2 1/4 cups flour
2 teaspoons ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
1 1/4 cups brown sugar
4 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking soda, and salt.
Beat together butter and sugars until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla and beat to combine. Gradually adding flour mixture until just incorporated. Mix in chocolate chips.
Spread in 9x13 greased pan. Bake for 40-50 minutes. Cool completely in pan and cut into bars.
You know....You could make these and release some of your people too!
Let me know how they turn out. I haven't ever added ginger to my chcolate chip cookies before. Sounds interesting. I just made 8 dozen cookies last night for a missionary fireside we had.
