There is something extra special about Christmas when you have a missionary out. You get that long awaited Christmas call. Nate's only been out 7 weeks so he is still very new to the mission, and yes still homesick. But, he sounded so good. What an amazing miracle occurs when a boy or girl enters the mission field. I have seen it now with my third son. All I can say is when you put your choicest positions back in the Lords hand for His service they seem to bloom. But first comes the refiners fire. I think Nate is in the middle of it right now. He really wishes, literally he was. Last Sunday with the wind chill Chicago registered -40.

This is the apartment. They have no electricity in the bathroom so they hung Christmas lights. I think it looks pretty, Larry thinks it looks dangerous. At any rate they get to move into a new apartment the first of the year.

I really like this shot. Above the toilet, a picture? Of? I am thinking the Quorum of the Twelve.

What is Chicago without Micheal Jordan. You would know one of the first pictures of Nate would be with Micheal "Bronze" Jordan.
Yeah Nate. Love those Christmas visits on the phone. He looks good and happy. He'll be just fine.
ReplyDeleteWe had the missionaries over and they called their families from here. It is always fun to have them around. I thought of Nate often while they were here.
ReplyDeleteHey, some of those pictures look familiar! If it makes you feel any better, it is warmer here today, and supposed to be in the 50's tomorrow! I am so excited for Nate and for you guys!
ReplyDeleteHey, that last comment by Rich, was actually me. I didn't realize that someone else was logged in on my computer... oops.
ReplyDeleteThis is Dale and RA's niece, Jen (Janet's daughter). My husband's brother lives outside of Chicago (and served his mission in Chicago) in Watseka. Let us know if Nate gets near there and we will hook him up for dinner.
